Scotland's Long Distance Footpaths

There are a number of long distance walks in Scotland. The map below shows where they are located. The yellow routes numbered 1-4 on the map, are the official long distance paths in Scotland. The green routes numbered 1-12 are way-marked but not as well known as the “big four” and sometimes not as well maintained.

The information about each walk is numbered and colour coded with the map to help you find each walk location. Most of the guide books include route maps and saves you having to buy numerous maps! However, if you plan to do more walks over time, it can be more cost effective to have a good map collection.
